Course Description
The purpose of this course is to meet the continuing education requirements of the Massage Therapy Practice Act and provide licensed massage therapists with information about the root cause process, error reduction and prevention, and client safety.
Criteria for Successful Completion:
75% or greater correct on the module post-test
Continuing Education Credits:
Two (2) hours of continuing education credit
Learning Outcomes:
- Define the term medical error.
- Discuss what factors must be included in a root cause analysis
- Identify what types of adverse incidents must be reported to the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration.
- Describe types of errors
- Explain why and how massage therapists may use root cause analysis to reduce errors in their practice or as part of a health care team
